Mesa Marcada Awards

It was at the Gare Marítima de Alcântara, the stage for the delivery of the long-awaited prizes of Mesa Marcada, which counted on more than 350 people, all of them connected, directly or indirectly, to the gastronomic environment.

Restaurante Feitoria and chef João Rodrigues won, for the 4th consecutive year, the awards for best restaurant and best chef, respectively.

In addition to these two awards, André Figuinha also won the Special S. Pellegrino / Acqua Panna Sommelier of the Year Award.
We want to congratulate all the nominees and winners of this contest that rewards the best that is done in Portugal.

Feitoria wins Michelin Star

The Feitoria Restaurant won a Michelin Star for the 9th consecutive year in Portugal and Spain Guide 2020.

Congratulations to the Chef João Rodrigues and all the fantastic team.

Fernando Cardoso, from the Feitoria restaurant, is Chef Cook of the year 2018

It was at the Arroios Market that the National Final of the 29th Chef Cook of the Year contest was held, and for the first time live and open to the public.

The menu that Fernando Cardoso presented to the jury in the National Final was composed by Açorda of eggs, coriander and onions in tannery (entrance); Peas, bivalves and turbot (fish); Lamb, Seia cheese and roasted potatoes (meat); Dreams of pumpkin (dessert) and Caldeirada de cherne (traditional dish in pot / oven).

We congratulate Carlos Gonçalves, head chef of Corinthia Lisbon Hotel for 2nd place and Jorge Fernandes of Iberostar Lisboa, for 3rd place.

In the jury group were the chefs Alexandre Silva (restaurant LOCO), António Bóia (JnCquoi), Leonel Pereira (São Gabriel), Pedro Lemos (Pedro Lemos), Ricardo Costa (The Yeatman). In the honorary jury was the chief Orlando Esteves. The 29th Chef Cook of the Year competition is officially sponsored by Makro, Norge, Icel and Estrella Damm.

The Official Products are Brasmar (National Octupus), Bom Sucesso (Rice) and Lava (Pots and Trays). It is organized by Edições do Gosto and by Inter Magazine.

The Wine Magazine (Revista Vinhos) has already revealed the great winners of the BEST OF THE YEAR 2017 awards. "In some cases the consistency, balance, experience, career of several years is praised; in others, boldness, the will to change and to make different, the daring of a creation distinct from what exists, "explains the director of the publication, Nuno Pires. The 'Oscars' of wine and gastronomy were presented in a ceremony at the Oporto Customs.

The Feitoria Restaurant was considered the Gastronomic Restaurant of the Year 2017.

João Rodrigues at Madrid Fusión Festival

João Rodrigues opened the stage of the XVI Madrid Fusion in the presentation of Lisboa theme and the modern interpretation of cooking fish, together with the chefs Alexandre Silva and Henrique Sá Pessoa.

This year Lisbon was the invited city of this important gastronomic event and the Lisbon Heads had the support of Turismo de Lisboa and the introduction of Duarte Calvão.

The results of the "10 Restaurants and 10 Chefs Favorites of the 2016" are already known, at a ceremony held this year at Alcântara Café, in Lisbon.

At the 9th edition of Mesa Marcada awards, Feitoria Restaurant and Chef João Rodrigues were the winners, for the second consecutive time in both categories, Restaurant and Chef.

These awards are unique in Portugal and result on the vote of a panel of judges linked to gastronomy. The panel this year is composed by 153 judges, including chefs (44%), responsible for restaurants (9%), journalists, bloggers, critics (24%) and foodies (23%).
